Package from Grandma

A few days ago I was talking to my mom on the phone and mentioned that Kenadee's bottom two teeth were coming in. My sweet mom immediately went to the store after our phone call to get her grand-daughter some teething toys. Thanks mom, you are the best! Kenadee loves ALL of them! We are still trying to get pictures of her teeth, but are failing miserably! :)

How many men does it take to unlock a car?

So today I had what I would call a traumatic experience. In hindsight it is actually kind of funny, but at the time it was tragic. I went to a self-serve car wash to give our 4runner a well deserved shower. I attempted to wash the car with Kenadee in the BabyBjorn. After about two minutes I realized that this wasn't very effective, so I put her in the drivers seat and let her play with her favorite toy, the keys. I continued to wash the car and play peek-a-boo with Kena. Once finished I went to the door to open it and to my horror, it was locked! Kena had locked herself in the car with the automatic lock on my keyring. I naturally started to panic and ran around the car trying desperately to open all the doors. There was a man in front of me who noticed my panice and asked what was the matter. I told him my baby was locked in the car at which point he kindly called the police for me. It took them about 5 minutes to arrive at which time Kenadee was done with the peek-a-boo games and wanted mom. When I was told the policemen had arrived I turned around only to see two cop cars and a firetruck! The cop cars had turned on their lights and were blocking off the street. Naturally this brought on any civilian onlookers in the area! After a few minutes of trying to get in the car with a Slim Jim and having no luck a lock smith was called. He was there within minutes when they told him there was a baby in the car. Now at this point I am crying along with Kenadee who is trying to figure out who all these people are that are looking at her. (All the policemen and firemen kept commenting on her beautiful blue eyes, hello, not the time for compliments, get my baby out of the car!) So, the question becomes, how many men does it take to get a baby out of a locked car? I lost count after ten!! In the end, with kenadee safe in my arms and flirting with the officers, I felt as though I need to take a bow to the crowd around me and accept an award for worst mom in the world! I know accidents happen, but I felt so aweful! So, if any of you moms or dads out there ever have a day where you feel like a bad parent, don't worry you are not alone!

8 Months

Here is Kenadee on her eight month mark. She loves to stand and walk around while holding onto Ben or my fingers. She has yet to crawl, but she is getting closer.
I found this dress at a cute baby store on Castro and 24th. They sell great new and used baby clothes. I couldn't pass up this polka-dot piece.

Super Surprise

Yesterday Ben called me up at lunch to see if I could find a babysitter for the night. My wonderful friend Stephanie was with me at the time and volunteered to watch Kenadee. Ben wouldn't tell me what he had planned until we were in the car. Once we were on our way, he told me we were going to the Tim McGraw/Faith Hill Soul2Soul concert! Hello, what a great surprise from a super husband!

This is us at the concert.

This is the vehicle we drove to the concert in San Jose. Thanks Krommenhoeks for driving!
This is part of our group. The three couples who rode in the blue machine! (Jamie and Dallas Krommenhoek, Tyson and Courtney Davis, Ben and me, Eryn and Paul Rogers were also there along with a cute couple from the Davis's ward.)

Some Favorites

These are a few pictures that I liked from the last week. This first one is Kenadee using her toothbrush. Am I doing it right? :)
Here Kena is trying to eat a giant squash. Yummy
Look everyone, no hands. Kenadee is becoming increasingly better at this whole standing thing. For those of you wondering, no she is still not crawling. Some days I wonder if she is planning on just passing up the whole crawling thing altogether and go straight to walking.

Ice Cream Cone

So I realize that it probably isn't a good idea to let a baby have ice cream, but when those huge blue eyes look up at me I can't say no! Kenadee loved the ice cream cone!!
