I've been tagged...

It looks like I've also been tagged to share five things people don't know about me. Here goes with some of my secrets. :0
1. Pretty people intimidate me. I know that's sad to say, but they do. I like to think of myself as completely confident and outgoing, but around certain folks, I don't know what to say or what to do.
2. I love taking pictures. I used to do a lot of wedding photos, engagement pictures, etc. I loved it, but haven't done it for a while, and now I feel out of date with my good old film camera.
3. I always wanted to be multi-lingual. I am facinated by different languages and culture! I would love to travel the world and visit everywhere!
4. I thoroughly enjoy learning, but I can't stand homework! Writing papers is even worse. I have always enjoyed school, but the homework was never my stron point. My ideal situation would be to sit in a classroom and simply soak up the information.
5. I have always wanted to take singing lessons. As a child I had no inhabitions about singing in front of family and friends. Somehow that all changed. :) I think though that it's never too late and I plan on taking singing lessons sometime in my life.

Now that you all know me better, I tag Pepper and Annie. Have fun ladies!

Palace of Fine Arts

We took Stephanie and McKenzie to see the Palace while they were in town. This is one of my favorite places to go and just hang out. I think it is a beautiful place. We practiced Kenadees sitting skills while we were there. Obviously she still needs a little help.

Here's Stephanie and McKenzie.

New Friends

We had our good friends the Chappells out to visit this past weekend. They brought their beautiful new baby baby McKenzie. Kenadee seemed to enjoy watching the new little person in her world.

Is this my prince??

When Mommy Leaves

So, we have discovered what happens when mom leaves Kenadee in the hands of daddy and uncle Dave. It appears she may have a future in dentistry.

Story Time

Apparently reading books uses up a lot of energy. Kenadee just got tuckered out.

Like Father Like Daughter

Do I need to say more??

Day at the Park

Kenadee tried out the swing at the park yesterday and loved it!

Rainy Days

Today the weather was cold and rainy. I love the rain, but sometimes it makes you wish you were someplace else. Somewhere warm with blue skies.

Today we decided to put Kenadee in her Hawaiian outfit, thank you to Uncle Nate and Aunt Millie. I think I would much rather be in Hawaii soaking up the sun on the beach!

Apparently Kenadee just wanted to eat her new outfit! :) Tasty new fabric.

Discovery of Self

Kenadee loves to look at herself in the mirror! She is defintely our daughter! :) I read in an article about child development that babies don't recognize that they are seeing their own image until they are around 9-10 months. Until then the little person looking back at her is providing a lot of entertainment!

4 Months

Kenadee is now 4 months. It is crazy how fast she is growing. At her four month appointment she weighed in at 13lbs 7 oz and was 24+inches. She is growing right along the 50th percentile. Her world just keeps becoming more facinating to her, which is so fun for us too!

Easter

Kenadee seemed to be very interested in her Easter basket. She wanted to eat everything, but the candy was for mommy and daddy this year. She did get a stuffed animal and a book. The last picture is her in her Easter dress.

Yesterday Kenadee and I were lucky to get out of the drab San Francisco weather and head up to San Rafael to visit Katie Shelly and Tate. While up there we went to get the yummiest rootbeer floats at A&W. Seriouly, they are great! You should all try one.

Happy Mornings

Every morning I wake up to the happy babbling of Kenadee, it just seems to make the day go better now that she is in our lives. She is everything good in life. This morning as a I woke up I realized what a blessing it is to have Ben and Kenadee in my life. I feel so grateful for them both!

SF Zoo

Wednesday Kenadee and I met up with Pepper Elliot and her son Oslo for a day at the San Francisco zoo. It was the monthly free day which apparently means all the schools in the area have zoo day too. :) It was interesting to see the different animals. Since both Kenadee and Oslo are still too little to fully appreciate the experience, Pepper and I had time to casually walk and talk about the little joys of motherhood. I had asked Pepper what she thinks is the greatest thing about being a mom. She told me there were many things, but that she loved knowing Oslo was hers; that she was the one who could give him comfort; that she was the one he cried for. What a wonderful gift it is to be a mother! Thank you to all of my friends and family who are amazing mothers. I appreciate your wonderful examples!!!

Legion of Honor

Tuesday Kenadee and I headed to the Legion of Honor with Rachel Ure and her son Tayson. We met up with Janae Black and her daughters Haiden and Kalie; she was also watching Macey Blaisdell. The museum was great to walk through. I am amazed at the talent of so many artists. Janae and I were talking about the statues in particular. We were amazed at how detailed they were. After walking through the museum for a little while we went out to the grass so the little ones could run around.

Crissy Field

Kenadee and I have had a wonderfully fun week! On Monday we met up with my good friend Courtney and her son Weston. We went on a walk along Crissy Field. It was a beautiful day!!

Our Little Cannibal

Kenadee is in a stage of constantly putting whatever is near her into her mouth. Her hands are her favorite item, but toys, blankets, clothes, fingers attached to other people also work. We didn't realize the extent to which her new stage reached until she tried to take a bite out of Lainy! :)

Basketball Tournament

Ben was recently in UOPs annual basketball tournament. He had the opportunity to be a team captain, which is ironic since he has never competetively played BB before. His team consisted of a mix of players from all years of dental students. They were able to play in two games and kept the audience intrigued with their "skills." All of the members of the team had great attitudes and appeared to have a fun time with the competition. Their first game allowed them time to practice, though they lost and get prepared for their moment of glory winning game #2. I think there is some serious NBA potential here.

Fun With Daddy

Ben tried his glasses on Kenadee today. They are a little big now, but will probably fit soon! :) I think she was just trying to figure out what was going on with her "improved" vision.
